WHY I TEACH

To me, language isn’t just a tool, it’s a bridge to understanding, a vessel for ideas and a reflection of who we are.

Language has never felt neutral to me. From studying the intricacies of Slavic philology to working in the refined world of classical music management, where eloquent British English was the common thread among colleagues and mentors, I’ve come to appreciate how language both shapes and is shaped by culture. It influences not only how we communicate, but how we see the world.

That fascination gradually turned into practice. Over the years, I’ve also worked extensively with English and Polish as a translator of film-related publications, industry materials, and creative documents. Working so closely with language in professional and artistic contexts taught me how meaning, tone, and intention operate beyond grammar in real texts and real creative processes.

This is what ultimately led me to teaching. Language, in my experience, expands perspective: it allows us to look beyond our own assumptions habitual ways of thinking. Teaching lets me be part of that expansion. Helping others connect through language, shift their viewpoint, and express themselves more fully is something I see as both a privilege and a constant source of inspiration.

HOW IT WORKS

ONE-TO-ONE LEARNING

I don’t teach in pairs or groups - my lessons are always one-to-one, allowing me to focus entirely on your individual needs.

LONG-TERM WORK

Consistency is key to real progress in language learning. While intensive courses might seem effective, they rarely lead to lasting communication skills. If we work together, I encourage a steady, long-term approach that allows your language abilities to develop naturally and sustainably.

PAYMENTS UPFRONT

I ask for payments in advance, usually on a monthly basis. You can find more details on the Services & Prices page.

LESSON DURATION

Each lesson lasts a maximum of 50 minutes. This ensures optimal focus and effectiveness for both you and me.

NO TRUANCY POLICY

Life happens, and I understand that emergencies come up. If you need to cancel, I appreciate at least 24 hours' notice so we can reschedule your class. If you cancel later and we’re unable to find a new time, I charge 50% of the lesson fee. For no-shows without notice, the full lesson fee applies.

NOTICE PERIOD

I understand that priorities change, and there may come a time when you need to pause or stop lessons. I want my students to feel comfortable making that decision at any time, but I’d appreciate four weeks' notice whenever possible.
